| APPOINTMENT DELAYS – Our providers
try to stay on schedule but delays and emergencies are part of the
day. If there is a delay of 20 minutes or more we will try to notify
you as soon as possible so you can decide to wait or reschedule. We
appreciate you patience and understanding. |
 |
LUNCH HOUR, EVENING AND WEEKEND CALLS |
| |
During the lunch hour (12:15-1:30), after hours (past
4:30), and on weekends, phone calls are received by our answering
service. The answering service will only refer your call to the on
call physician if it is urgent. If there is an emergency the patient
should call 911 or go to the nearest Urgent Care Center. Our practice
has a physician on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The answering
service cannot make appointments or provide refills. |
 |
PRESCRIPTION REFILLS |
| |
Please call your pharmacy for all prescription refills.
Please call 7-10 days in advance of running out or going on vacation.
Once the pharmacy notifies our office that a refill is needed it may
take up to 48-72 hours before our office replies to the pharmacy.
WHY? Because the bulk of our day is spent in the office caring for
patients. Please call only once for a refill. Several phone calls
regarding one refill actually slows the process down. If it has been
more than 72 hours please call the office. It is very difficult to
refill a prescription without the patient’s medical record available,
so the on call physician will not refill medication. |
 |
WRITTEN PRESCRIPTIONS |
| |
If you need a written prescription to mail to your
pharmacy please call our office phone and press 4 and leave the following
information: |
| 1) |
Your complete name |
| 2) |
The phone number we can reach you at during the day
|
| 3) |
Date of Birth |
| 4) |
Name of Medication |
| 5) |
Strength of the medication |
| 6) |
How often the medication is taken |
| |
If you want the prescription mailed to your home or
if you would like to pick it up, please allow 48 hours for written
prescriptions to be completed and one week to arrive in the mail.
Calling and leaving more than 1 message will not speed up the process.
Mail in pharmacy refills normally take 2 weeks, so please plan ahead. |
 |
PHONE MESSAGES |
| |
Return phone calls are made throughout the day and
into the evening. The urgency of the phone call will determine
when the call is returned. Please leave only one message.
More than one phone call regarding the same subject actually slows
the process. Again, our priority is to care for the patients who are
being seen in the office that day. If it is something urgent
that cannot wait, please make an appointment. That is why same day
appointments are always available. |
 |
TEST RESULTS |
| |
Please do not call for test results unless the provider
specifically asks you to. Our office will always notify the patient
either by phone call or by mail as soon as possible. |
| |
Lab Test results will be mailed to the patient and
may take up to 10 days to arrive. |
